For my Fun Agility class I try to make the equipment or find it cheaply. I don’t wish to use lots of fancy equipment for my own sake and for my customers, to show that fun agility is accessible to everyone.
So this morning I decided to make these carpet tile foot targets and they turned out really well! Luckily I took photos so I can share the design with you!
You’ll need a carpet tile, scrap wood from a pallet that has been sanded. 4 screws per foot target of suitable length, a wood saw and some adhesive.
First step is to line up the wood planks as in the picture. The planks on top should have the same distance between their furthest edges as the length of the carpet tile.
Then screw the planks together, putting a screw through the top plank into each of the two lower planks at the top and bottom.

Next up, saw off the edges off to make it nice and square.

This results in a nice little step

Next up, we want to apply the adhesive and line up the carpet tile to two edges to reduce the amount of sawing you have to do.

Then lay it upside down so the weight of the wood keeps the carpet tile pushed against the wood.

Finally trim the carpet tile once it is dry. I used the wood saw, and cut it from the back.
And you have a fab little foot target! The dogs did really well on it!
